Long Beach Classics Tortilla Strips
Classic Kiwi vibes all year long
Mexicano Corn Chips came to me with a new product that was in its infancy – all they had was a moodboard and a general business plan for a new, vegan tortilla chip. They wanted something classic, something that felt like a Kiwi summer.
We started with a naming round, where we agreed on something that felt distinctly Kiwi, but also fresh and healthy feeling. We like that Long Beach Classics could be shortened to LBC and left room for the brand to grow.
From there we explored multiple pack concepts, but settled on an endless summer style screenprint. I got to work refining the design and illustration as well as photographing their chips and working on the final packs. What we ended up with was three packs with a unified colour story that popped off shelves. The sun and logo were left unprinted, leaving the bare aluminium to shine and catch the light – a cost-effective way to make the packs feel refined and considered.
